2.1.4 Recommendation For Cabling

Depending on the model, the door station and its remote stations require one of the

following cabling conﬁgurations. Please take note of our cabling recommendations and

the maximum cable lengths. Both the network cable and other cables must be stripped

at the door station ends.

Network cable from the Ethernet terminal board behind the camera module

to the switch/injector

• Recommendation: Category 5 (Cat 5) Ethernet installation cable or higher; Cat

7 cable is designed for 10 Gbit Ethernet (max. future compatibility)

• Max. cable length: 100 m

Two wires from the door station to the T24-DoorMaster for the MxBus connector

• Recommendation: YSTY (telephone) solid wire, core diameter 0.6 to 0.8 mm

• Max. cable length: 50 m

Cables from the T24-DoorMaster to the electric door opener, the door contact

and the door lock switch

• Recommendation: YSTY (telephone) solid wire, core diameter 0.6 to 0.8 mm

• Max. cable length: depending on the manufacturer, max. 50 m

Two wires from the T24-DoorMaster to an additional power supply (for

example, 12 V for Mediator operation)

• Recommendation: YSTY (telephone) solid wire, core diameter 0.6 to 0.8 mm

• Max. cable length: depending on the manufacturer

Two wires from the keypad to the 230 V light relay (if present)

• Recommendation: YSTY (telephone) solid wire, core diameter 0.6 to 0.8 mm

• Max. cable length: depending on the manufacturer

Two-wire cable from the T24-Info2wire+ info module to the indoor unit (as

an alternative to the outdoor station being directly connected to the network)

• Recommendation: existing, previously laid bell wire (core diameter 0.6 to

0.8 mm)

• Max. cable length: 200 m (JY, A2Y, YR), 300 m (NY), 500 m (Cat 7)

Two wires from the door station to the T24-DoorMaster for connecting the

MOBOTIX anti-theft protection (for unlocking when exchanging modules)

• Recommendation: black two-wire cable already ﬁtted to the frame, possibly

extended with YSTY (telephone) solid wire, core diameter 0.6 to 0.8 mm

• Max. cable length: 50 m
